How to wear a ballgown to playgroup...

D's mommy's friend Vivi got Diana a gorgeous choli top over maxi-dress ensemble in piercing teal and orange hues on a recent trip to India and I've been counting down the days until it would fit Diana since the fabric and colour are exquisite (slash my fantasies of recreating this Vogue cover can finally be played out on my toddler. Such healthy parenting).

I've also been racking my brain as to how D can pull off what is essentially black tie in her current schedule, which sadly has no formal functions in the near future (after last summer's wedding chaos with D, I've come to the conclusion that weddings and toddlers don't mix if you're the parent of one of the toddlers). So D will be wearing this ball dress - teamed with preppy J.Crew striped cardi and grey Gap tights - to playgroup today.

I'm obsessed and judging by her posing, I think D is a fan too.

Two BFFs on a bench

Bolsh and D have a much-needed catch-up - they haven't seen each other in days!

It's official: My 19-month-old has better clothes than me

I 'm also not sure I could ever pull off ruffles, horizontal stripes, or tulip skirts, let alone in the same outfit.

Miu Miu's new kicks

Distracting myself with pretty pictures this morning, and these Miu Miu sneaks are my new obsession. Now all I need is a disposable income...

Best outfit ever?

I have a ton of work to do, so of course I've opted to ignore all of it and put up this pic of D instead. Basically, I'm obsessed with this partic outfit and wondering how as someone who weighs 100+ pounds more than her and is over the age of one, I can potentially pull something similar off...

In other news, it's nice to see that D's computer skills have already exceeded mine.

Hospital shot!

Baby D turned nine-months-old yesterday which feels completely insane to me. I am creepily feeling broody for a newborn and I don't understand how D suddenly seems so grown up. Craziness - but apparently, normal for a lot of moms to feel.

In honor of her nine-month-bday, I've unearthed an early pic of D from the hospital (yes, I have been trawling for photos of a newborn D all day. I am an addict and chubby thighs and cheeks are my drug).

From catwalk to crib: Jil Sander

Even though I am usually covered in baby food and/or vomit these days, I am still a fashion lover. So I suppose it's only natural that I am thinking about (dreaming of?) the latest designer duds, even when playing with baby D. (After all, it's what I do for a living so I guess I'm entitled!)

You can imagine how thrilled I was to notice that baby D's outfit the other day ended up looking like it came straight off the Jil Sander runway. I am totally obsessed with this whole casual-luxe T-shirt and brightly hued ballgown skirt combo (ever since I saw it on the cover of US Vogue in the nineties - I think it was designed by Ralph Lauren back then) and I just love everything about this Jil Sander by Raf Simons spring collection, from the neon maxis to the florals and stripes.

Baby D's take on the trend comes courtesy of the Gap (and I suppose she is going slightly Black Swan/Chloe Spring 2011-esque with the tulle tutu skirt) but I think she looks fabulous in her minimalist outfit. And check out that pose!
